The short story –

Twenty-something years old. 10+ years photography experience, 5 in the wedding industry. Entirely self taught photographer. Always learning and growing. Travel bug. Enneagram 2, Wing 1. Lazy morning enthusiast. Self proclaimed artist at the age of 4. Animal lover. Full of dreams and the ambition to chase them. Aspiring author. Business degree. Nursing student. Gym rat. House Slytherin. Collector of vintage cameras. Worshipper of black coffee, a good book, and Italian food. Finding my path in this world through the stories I capture. Down for a good time, all the time.

The long story –

I’m Macee Michele, but I go by Mace – yes, exactly like the pepper spray. My cousin coined the nickname when I was six and to this day she still calls me Pepper Spray.

I was born and raised in Western Nebraska, and I still call the Great Plains my home. While that’s technically true, I am a traveler at heart and my biggest goal in life is to go everywhere I possibly can. I dream of someday living a true nomadic life, living in a van and moving from place to place, photographing love stories along the way.

I dream of someday living a truly nomadic lifestyle. Something about traveling, experiencing new places and things – it makes me feel like I am the best and happiest version of myself.

I’ll dive all the way into traveling and why it’s my ultimate high in a later post, but for now, I’ll get back to introducing myself 😉

I’ve been behind the camera since 2016, and started this business in 2019. I’ve evolved from a high school yearbook journalist, a newspaper stringer, a sports photographer, a hobbyist portrait and landscape photographer, to where I am now – a professional wedding and lifestyle photographer. I’m entirely self taught, and I am constantly looking for more ways to learn and grow. This business of mine is only starting – I have dreams for MMP and they are BIG.

Outside of photography and healthcare, I am so much more. My family are the most important people in my life and I consider each and every one of them a role model of mine for so many reasons. At the end of the day, they are my reason why in everything I do. I am the mom of two cats who bring so much light into my life every single day. I am an avid reader (I read over 80 books in 2024 alone), and an aspiring author (I’m currently working on my debut novel and working on other concepts as well). I’m a traveler, both for work and for pleasure. A tattoo lover (I have 7 currently), a collector of old cameras (the current count is 62), an absolute foodie (Eggs Benedict ALWAYS), a caffeine addict (I blame the three years I worked as a barista) and a gym rat (leg day everyday). As for my education, I already hold a degree in Associates of Applied Science in Business and am currently working on a practical nursing degree.

If you’re into the personality stuff, I’ve got the tea. I’m an Enneagram Type 2, Wing 1 (caring, service-oriented, nurturing), House Slytherin (ambitious, determined, independent), a Cancer sun (creative, intuitive, protective), Aquarius moon (open-minded, innovative, curious), Taurus rising (down-to-earth, reliable, hardworking). I am a big believer in what is meant to happen, will. The idea that one day when I am old and grey, I might look back on my life and realize I didn’t live the life I dreamed of as a little girl, absolutely terrifies me. If I have a dream or a goal, I chase it with everything in me. I hate regrets and do everything in my power to avoid having them.
